The Development Committee
The Development Committee is a Horizons Board Committee that focuses on fundraising and marketing for Horizons K-8 Charter School.
Community Members work with administration to help build a fundraising/marketing campaign to help fill the funding gap that Charter Schools face, help raise money for all of the extra programming that is unique to Horizons. (i.e, field trips, educational programming, and individualized learning support systems, etc.)
As a 100% open enrollment school, we face unique challenges in getting the word out about how amazing and unique our programming and school is. As a committee we plan, recruit, and execute a marketing plan to best support Horizons.

Looking for volunteer opportunities
Social Media Team- Help with our open enrollment efforts by creating a "word of mouth" social media content. If you are on FB and Instagram and like to gather photos of our students and teachers and share about all of our amazing programing, this is the volunteer position for you. Dine and Donate- Help organize opportunities for Horizons families to purchase food and portion of the proceeds come back to Horizons. Place could include Krispy Kreme Donuts, In and Out Burger, Mod Market, Chipotle and so much more.
Spirit Wear-Help organize swag and order more as needed. For example, organizing and ordering for the BVSD Showcase, Back to School Night, ARTastic, and New Parent Night.
Horizons Business Directory-Help create and maintain a directory of Horizons families businesses. hk8development@gmail.com
CU Concessions-Have fun working concessions with fellow Horizons parents at CU football and basketball games while raising money for Horizons. h8development@gmail.com

King Soopers is partnering with Horizons in a program where they donate money to Horizons K-8 on your behalf just by doing your normal grocery shopping. Fundraised dollars are connected to Horizons by an online sign up for Community Rewards. To learn more and sign up click here
