• Horizons Community Group (HCG): Parent volunteers who plan events and build community at Horizons. All welcome! Email horizonscommunitygroup@gmail.com

• Equity, Diversity, and Belonging Committee (EDB): Parents, faculty, and staff working toward a more diverse, equitable school environment. All welcome! Email hk8edb@gmail.com

• Development Committee (DC): Leads fundraising and marketing to close the funding gap charter schools face, supporting programs like Outdoor Ed, winter sports, and learning support. Join us! Contact kristin.hauger@bvsd.org or hk8development@gmail.com

• Finance Review Committee (FRC): Meets monthly with the Head of School, Board Treasurer, and accounting staff to review budgets and advise the Board. Interested? Contact kristin.hauger@bvsd.org

• District Accountability Committee (DAC): Seeking a parent/guardian to represent Horizons K8. Details and meeting dates here.

• District Parent Council (DPC): One parent rep per school meets monthly with the Superintendent and district experts on topics like tech/security, curriculum, and bond measures. Interested? Contact kristin.hauger@bvsd.org

• School Accountability Committee (SAC): Required by state law for every school/district. Responsibilities are outlined here.
