Hawkbucks Campaign

What is the Hawkbucks Campaign?

The Horizons’ Hawk Bucks is the annual campaign that supports the school’s operating budget annually, helping to bridge the gap between what we receive in State funding, the costs we pay for services from BVSD, and the actual cost of our programs. The kind of education Horizons provides – small classes, rich choices that support student interest, individualized attention with a paraprofessional in almost every room is costly. Your support is vital in helping Horizons to continue to offer an outstanding K-8 progressive education for 21st Century learners.

With a $375 Hawks Bucks donation made for each Horizons’ student, we will more than meet our $100,000 Hawks Bucks goal for 2024/2025 school year. While not every family can give the full amount, we can all give something. Some of us can give more. And we can all ask our friends, families, and networks to help raise funds for a school that gives more every day to students than most schools. Horizons gives more because we believe that is what students, their families, our community, and the world needs. What is the value of compassion, conflict resolution, curiosity, community, and critical thinking? Here at Horizons, we believe each is worth the hard work and the cost. Won’t you join us?

Last year, through the hard work and generosity of our school community, family, and friends, Horizons’ raised over $70,000 through Hawks Bucks/Colorado Gives campaign. Our total fundraising goal for the year was $140,000. We surpassed that goal with Hawk Bucks/Colorado Gives, Spring Auction and Gala, Artastic Holiday Market, and other fundraising efforts. As a result, our parent and teacher led Council was able to vote to fund over $200,000 of initiatives, directly supporting staff development, curriculum, sensory learning supplies, and our #BigKidsPlayToo playground and park development project.

This year, we need to match or exceed our fundraising goal from last year in order to maintain the Horizons Council funds, develop our Nature Play spaces, and extend our intentional learning spaces to our beautiful grounds. Please join us!
